Hit Single is a collection of various one-off songs from composer Churgney Gurgney (also known as Sturm) featuring a diverse array of characters.
Hit Single is an anthology, meaning the songs do not connect to each other nor show an overarching story-line. While the plot for some of the songs are shown within the songs themselves, sometimes there are background context missing or zero context at all. This section will be used to explain the context of some of the songs.
Lord X has managed to escape from the digital realm and has entered reality. He seeks to kill his creator, JoeDoughBoi, to stop him from ending the over-arching story of Soulless Sonic to continue his own legacy.
As the entire existence of reality is dissipating due to Lord X's vessel rotting, he then says his goodbyes to Boyfriend. Lord X expresses his sorrow due to losing his favorite vessel, while being grateful to regain a new vessel.
Attempting to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula once again, Plankton forged a soul-corrupting clarinet by being aided from the Flying Dutchman & King Neptune and gave it, anonymously, to Squidward in order to manipulate and corrupt him.
Daddy Dearest and No More Innocence were once demonic relatives, but the former betrayed the latter, trapping him in a Sonic the Hedgehog video game for an unknown grudge. Seeking vengeance, No More Innocence retaliated by kidnapping Girlfriend in her infant stages, prompting Daddy Dearest to embark into No More Innocence's world to rescue his daughter.
Health Drain: In Trichael, Darnell Wet Fart, and Silly Billy the health bar will drain when the opponent sings.
Fear Bar: In Darnell Wet Fart, the fear bar will appear. Anytime Starvedwared sings, the fear bar will rise. However, to counter this, any note Mr. Krabs sings will make the bar go down. If the fear bar maxes out, the player will get a game over.
Modchart: Around 3:29 in Fakebaby, the strumline shakes and moves around the player's screen.
Mania: Tri-Torial completely overhauls the UI and gameplay of the song to have the same mechanics as another rhythm game called Sound Voltex, adding three new types of keys; a cyan left knob, a pink right knob, and an orange bar. Their keybinds are the S key, L key, and spacebar respectively.
TBOI-Styled HP: Ursed replaces the traditional healthbar with three hearts. Every time Boyfriend misses, he will lose half a heart and gain a second of invincibility frames.
