Summary

Hit Single is a collection of various one-off songs from composer Churgney Gurgney (also known as Sturm) featuring a diverse array of characters.

Plot

Hit Single is an anthology, meaning the songs do not connect to each other nor show an overarching story-line. While the plot for some of the songs are shown within the songs themselves, sometimes there are background context missing or zero context at all. This section will be used to explain the context of some of the songs.

Lord X has managed to escape from the digital realm and has entered reality. He seeks to kill his creator, JoeDoughBoi, to stop him from ending the over-arching story of Soulless Sonic to continue his own legacy.

After Joyous, Lord X has managed to kill his creator with the power of his "hellish blast", and soon the remaining whereabouts of Lord X are eventually unknown.

As the entire existence of reality is dissipating due to Lord X's vessel rotting, he then says his goodbyes to Boyfriend. Lord X expresses his sorrow due to losing his favorite vessel, while being grateful to regain a new vessel.

In the end, Lord X expresses himself being a "part of" Boyfriend during the final seconds of existence finally fading away.

Attempting to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula once again, Plankton forged a soul-corrupting clarinet by being aided from the Flying Dutchman & King Neptune and gave it, anonymously, to Squidward in order to manipulate and corrupt him.

Eventually, Mr. Krabs confronted Squidward, now transformed into Starvedwared, and Plankton in an abandoned house. After Darnell Wet Fart, the house collapses, killing Starvedwared, although the status for Mr. Krabs is left unknown in the end.

Daddy Dearest and No More Innocence were once demonic relatives, but the former betrayed the latter, trapping him in a Sonic the Hedgehog video game for an unknown grudge. Seeking vengeance, No More Innocence retaliated by kidnapping Girlfriend in her infant stages, prompting Daddy Dearest to embark into No More Innocence's world to rescue his daughter.

Gameplay Mechanics

Health Drain: In Trichael, Darnell Wet Fart, and Silly Billy the health bar will drain when the opponent sings.

Fear Bar: In Darnell Wet Fart, the fear bar will appear. Anytime Starvedwared sings, the fear bar will rise. However, to counter this, any note Mr. Krabs sings will make the bar go down. If the fear bar maxes out, the player will get a game over.

Modchart: Around 3:29 in Fakebaby, the strumline shakes and moves around the player's screen.

Mania: Tri-Torial completely overhauls the UI and gameplay of the song to have the same mechanics as another rhythm game called Sound Voltex, adding three new types of keys; a cyan left knob, a pink right knob, and an orange bar. Their keybinds are the S key, L key, and spacebar respectively.

Trivia

  • Hit Single was created due to an anon on /funkg/ complimenting about Churgney's singing voice.
    • After some time, Churgney used Hit Single as a backup for his musical scores for other modifications that were cancelled so they could be brought to light.
      • Currently, Hit Single is now a mod stored with many sets of concepts (and some that are requested by anonymous users) that the developers come up with or Churgney himself wanting a certain character he likes to be in Hit Single.
  • As some Hit Single enthusiasts were somewhat worrying about the updates releasing once a year, the updates are now realized to be released once soundtracks and the sprites for them are complete.
    • The only reason why Fakebaby was taking so long was due to the fact that Triki (one of the artists for Hit Single) kept on remaking the background for the song, which made Churgney Gurgney end up extending the song in the end.
  • The reason why Joker's Trick includes Ronald McDonald & Tricky was from a request by a Suefag from /funkg/.
    • It is currently unknown whether if the Joker from DC Comics would actually ever be in Hit Single.
  • Joyous was meant to be a song for EXE but was switched up for Lord X.
  • garn47 is an extra mod located within the assets folder, which contains a folder labeled "garn".

Gallery

This tab for JoeDoughBoi should be kept here since he's the protagonist for Joyous, even though he has no sprites at all.

Was scrapped due to the Hit Single devs not knowing what to do with him.
Was scrapped because Sturm didn't want to give any hint of credence to 4chan.
Was scrapped because its creator didn't want any UKSRT character to be affiliated with Friday Night Funkin'.
Was scrapped because the creator left the mod to focus on Mad & Hopeless.
Was scrapped because Churgney just "didn't think he fit".

Was actually just a concept, and everything spiraled out of hand.
Turned out to be just a concept which fooled everyone.
